Flowers are a great pick-me-up and an almost sinful indulgence if you buy them for yourself. Occasionally my garden blesses me with a beautiful rose or a Bird of Paradise and of course the ever present cascade of bougainvillea. My absolute favorite of the outdoor flowers are lilacs, sadly not to be had here in Florida.
These are Alstroemerias, a great choice because they last all week and come in beautiful colors and can be procured at Publix or Winn Dixie for a mere $3.99 a bunch. Cheapest pick-me-up around!
