How I Found Freedom

This 1973 self-help book still graces my bookshelf along with The J.A.P. Handbook and Every Girl Is Entitled To A Husband. It's message is that if you are shackled by circumstances or by obligations that you yourself undertook and are now desperately seeking a way out but are troubled by nagging little messages from your conscience, Do Not Worry. Your spouse, boss, aging parents, needy relatives and whiny children will be more self sufficient and better off if you are enjoying yourself on a permanent vacation in say the Keys on a charter fishing boat.

This manifesto of abdication and isolation was, believe it or not, a seed in the Libertarian movement and it's author, Harry Browne, went on to run for President many times on that ticket.

When applied on a nationwide scale this philosophy means things like non intervention in foreign affairs and the curtailing of any social "safety nets".

And now we have Ron Paul...
