Anything that endures 62 years (like me) deserves a special tip-of-the-hat especially if it's a family owned restaurant that's faced competition from the likes of Cheesecake Factory, Longhorn and Outback Steakhouses, and a bunch of other wannabes.There is only one Tropical Acres (thank goodness) and a visit there will take you back to a time when eating out meant great service, a piano playing softly in the background, a candle on the table, a tablecloth and great food at reasonable prices.
Tropical Acres is re-opening tonight having weathered a fire and a theft of the replacement appliances (they caught the bad guys!) A great Old Florida tradition continues. Welcome Back Tropical Acres!
