Revenge is a new TV show this season and cousins Terri and Elise agree with me - we're hooked! It sounds wonderfully delicious to be able to make those who did us dirt pay the appropriate penalty (no violence of course) especially if we could do it anonymously. Just stand back and watch their lives self destruct from a safe distance.
Forgiveness is a tenet of Christianity and we Jews also advocate wiping the slate clean on Yom Kippur. It is hard for me to embrace this idea wholeheartedly - I've seen loved ones suffer badly at the hands of genuinely cruel and evil people.
Sorry, but I'm routing for Amanda/Emily every Wednesday night. You go girl!
